Poets on Painters

Poets on Painters

co-curated with Travis Nichols

Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, KS

March - August 2007

Traveled to the Sheldon Museum of Art, the Herron School of Art & Design, University Galleries at Illinois State University, and the Queens Library.

"Poets on Painters" focuses on the intrinsic connections between two of the oldest art forms as seen by some of their newest practitioners. The exhibition recalls 20th-century collaborations between Apollinaire and Duchamp, Stein and Picasso, and O'Hara and Rivers in its playful examination of how poetry and painting converge and diverge in the 21st century. The internationally recognized visual and literary artists included in the exhibition represent an array of styles and approaches, both traditional and experimental.

The exhibition was accompanied by a full color catalog, of which a few are still available on Amazon.
